American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a night‑shift Clinical Resource Unit (float pool) position in Normal, Illinois.

• Position is within the Clinical Resource Unit (float pool) of a hospital setting
• Floats to multiple inpatient units, including Medical‑Oncology, Surgical‑Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care, Progressive Care, Mental Health, and Acute Rehab
• Provides care for diverse patient populations including acute and chronically ill cardiac, pulmonary, surgical, oncology, and rehab patients
• Night shifts are from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12‑hour shifts per week
• No on‑call requirements
• Uses Epic for EMR documentation
• Must be able to float to various units and adapt care for a wide range of patient diagnoses
• Responsible for managing care plans, medication administration, IVs, blood administration, and post‑operative care
• Expected to complete bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintain updated patient communication boards
• Provides patient and family education and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13‑week contract
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Candidates cannot be continuously assigned for more than 1 year and must take a 6‑month break before returning
• No travel partners accepted for this position

• Active IL RN license (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year relevant nursing experience
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Associate's degree in nursing or higher
