Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a night shift Med/Surg Float Pool position in Illinois requiring EPIC and Level 1 Trauma experience.
Responsibilities
• Work in a hospital-based Clinical Resource Unit (float pool)
• Float to various inpatient units including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care, Progressive Care, Mental Health, and Acute Rehab
• Care for diverse patient populations, including acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
• Typical diagnoses include coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, stroke, cancer, cellulitis, and post-surgical care
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 7:00pm – 7:30am, three nights per week
• EPIC EMR experience required
• No local candidates accepted within 50 miles
• Float to multiple units and provide specialized care depending on patient and unit needs
• Perform assessments, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, and provide post-operative care
• Utilize critical thinking skills to assess, intervene, and educate patients and families
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and act as a resource for staff
• Adhere to all safety standards, complete patient reports and hourly rounds, and ensure effective team communication
• No travel partners accepted
• Must comply with RTO policy, with time off not exceeding 7 days per 13-week contract
• Returning travelers may not be assigned for more than 1 year consecutively and are required to take a 6-month break before returning
Requirements
• Active IL RN license or temporary IL RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum one year of recent relevant RN experience
• Experience in Level 1 Trauma setting required
• EPIC charting experience required
• College diploma in nursing
