Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!
Position Overview:
The Substance Abuse Counselor will assist patients through medically-assisted programs and offer techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts group and individual sessions to support crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, they evaluate patients’ progress during therapy and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and therapists to optimize treatment outcomes.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
- Coordinate care of assigned patients and present patient status and concerns to the treatment team.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop and implement treatment plans according to state regulatory requirements.
- Provide clinical services, patient care, education, and opioid addiction counseling.
- Maintain excellent documentation and computer skills.
- Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor.
- Must have a CADC or be working toward a CADC and be able to obtain one within two years while supervised.
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals.
- Demonstrate a positive, non‑judgmental, accepting attitude toward our patient population.
- Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records).
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
Salary ranges from $20.74 to $24.00 an hour.
The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, specialty, and training.
