- Provides direct nursing care and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams.
- Conducts assessments, nursing diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care.
- Acts as a resource to staff from various units.
- Coordinates care to provide high-quality patient care.
- Manages care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Collaboratively designs and maintains care plans with patients and families.
- Implements interventions including medication administration and evaluation.
- Prepares patients for procedures, provides pain management, performs IV venipuncture, blood administration, and monitors labs.
- Discharges patients and provides safe transition instructions.
- Documents all care using EMR.
- Ensures team huddles occur and attends them.
- Delegates with appropriate follow-up.
- Answers call lights and ensures basic care per standards.
- Handles conflict management and maintains professional communication.
- Provides post-operative care for complex surgical population.
- Delegates patient care tasks to assigned HCTs and validates completion.
- Completes and documents basic RN patient care activities including assessments, vital signs interpretation, physician order completion, admission/discharge, hourly rounding, care plan documentation, and patient education.
- Administers patient medications following the 5 Rights.
- Maintains patient safety with compliance to fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety.
- Promotes a positive attitude and healthy work environment.
- Focuses on prompt answering of patient call lights for effective triage and completion of requests.
- Uses critical thinking to evaluate patient condition and acts on changes.
- Communicates effectively within healthcare team for collaboration and patient safety.
- Assesses and intervenes during post-operative phase.
- Assesses, manages, and educates patients and families.
- Receives patient Bedside Shift Report ensuring safe environment and updated communication board.
