Pharmacy Customer Service Associate – Walgreens
Join our team to provide exceptional customer and pharmacy support in a fast‑paced retail environment.
Base Pay Range$16.00/hr – $18.00/hr
Responsibilities Customer Experience- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices with all team members; demonstrate Walgreens service traits such as proactive help, identifying needs, and service until satisfied.
- Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service at the register; process sales, voids, returns, and exchanges.
- Recommend items for sale, including trade‑ups and companion items.
- Maintain clean, merchandised counters and shelves; assist with inventory, pricing, and stocking.
- Under supervision, use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist pharmacists with workflow.
- Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty; adhere to company policies, the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct, and Good Faith Dispensing.
- Handle telephone calls, including those to physicians, and process manual claims.
- Support pharmacy inventory activities, such as ordering, unpacking, and filing claims for overages or shortages.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws for regulated products (alcohol, tobacco).
- Participate in maintenance of store appearance, including displays and food item separation.
- Assist customers in the photo area and with virtual pick‑up orders.
- Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Perform special assignments and other related tasks as directed.
- Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or required state certification.
- Attend training, complete PPLs, and obtain continuing education credits; stay current with healthcare and pharmacy developments.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Previous work experience with Walgreens.
- Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.
- Good computer skills.
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- PTCB certification.
