Interns will receive supportive training and supervision from experienced school counselors while obtaining school-based experiences with the following:
- Provides emotional, social, and academic counseling, eases school transitions, monitors academic success, and makes referrals to specialized services when needed.
- Acts as a liaison among teachers, parents, administrators, and students, facilitates conferences, maintains records, and coordinates with special services for student placement and support.
- Offers career guidance, assists with course selection and post-high school planning, conducts group sessions, and provides resources on jobs and future opportunities.
- Completion of School Counseling program coursework and any university specific requirements for an internship during the school year.
