Overview
Department of Politics and Government invites applications for a full‑time, one‑year, non‑tenure track appointment as an Instructional Assistant Professor for the Academic Year 2026‑2027. Subject to funding and department need, the position may be renewed annually.
Applicants in the Department's Political Science program should specialize in American Politics and be able to teach undergraduate research methods. ABD in Political Science is required; applicants with a PhD in hand at the time of appointment are preferred.
Teaching ResponsibilitiesThe teaching load is 4 courses per semester (3 preparations). The position will include one large section of introductory research methods each semester, supported by a graduate teaching assistant, counting toward two courses in the teaching load. Two additional upper‑level American Politics courses will be assigned based on departmental curricular needs and faculty expertise.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary range: $50,000–$60,000, depending on credential and experience. Successful candidates will also receive travel support for professional conferences and a modest amount for research support.
