Assistant​/Associate Professor Physical Education​/Kinesiology

Position: Assistant/Associate Professor for Physical Education/Kinesiology
Summary:

The position is in the Department of Health Sciences, Human Performance, and Communication Disorder. This is a full-time, 9-month faculty position. The rank and tenure-status of the position is negotiable based on qualifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Teach a variety of kinesiology and health education courses in the physical education and service programs. (Biomechanics of Exercise, Exercise physiology, and Materials & Methods in Physical Education).

* Advise students and serving on Department, College, and University committees.

* Perform research, including external funding, and scholarly publications in physical education or related areas.

* Perform professional service to the university, community, and profession.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum

Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):

* Earned doctorate (ABD considered) in Kinesiology, Health or related field.

* Demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a multi-ethnic, multicultural environment, documented commitment to excellence in teaching and service.

* Evidence of research and grant writing.

* Must have experience teaching a wide variety of courses and proficiency in teaching with the use of technology in the classroom.

* Must be able to provide positive team-oriented interaction with colleagues regarding curriculum and departmental decisions and model energetic and professional demeanor to students.

Preferred:

* Candidates with P-12 physical education teaching in a public-school setting are preferred.
