This position is responsible for:
- The supervision and success of evening and weekend events and helping with Conference Services regular office hours.
- The security of the building including unlocking and locking the building independently, especially when professional staff is not on-site.
- Notify direct supervisor that you are headed to your event at least 30 minutes before the doors are supposed to be unlocked.
- Arrive at the building 15 minutes before the doors are supposed to be unlocked.
- Check setups in meeting/event rooms according to the setup worksheets and/or as directed by supervisor. Ensure that rooms are clean, open, properly equipped at least 15 minutes prior to start time and rooms are secured no more than 15 minutes after meetings end.
- Check and monitor all requested audio/visual needs for events and turn the equipment on/off.
- Work with caterers to assure proper use and clean-up of the Alumni Center.
- Help train and mentor new student employees.
- Cover all hours unable to be covered by Alumni Center Student Supervisors.
- Demonstrate capacity for high-level attention to detail, problem-solving skills and multi-tasking abilities.
- Check out/return Alumni Center keys.
- Monitor activity throughout the building and surrounding areas; enforce building/University guidelines (no smoking; shoes & shirts; no animals, etc.) as needed. Report problems to appropriate staff person as needed.
- Assist with special tasks such as equipment inventory, furniture moving, delivery load in/out, etc. as assigned.
- Present yourself in a professional manner to the university and the community at all times.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate$15.00/hour
Required Qualifications- Be enrolled at least as a part-time student at ISU and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 (allowances or exceptions MAY be made for students actively working on raising their GPA and who have in place a plan to improve their grades).
- Strong public relations and customer services skills with enthusiasm and ability to work as a team player and place clients as a top priority.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public/staff and provide high-quality customer service.
- Must be mature, dependable, able to function calmly under pressure, have the ability to make sound and independent decisions.
- Extensive knowledge of the university and surrounding area.
- This position requires multi-tasking abilities, excellent time management, problem-solving and quick-thinking skills.
- Prior use and knowledge of personal computers.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
- Summer and/or holiday availability is required.
- Weekend and evening hours normal.
- Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Ability to move furniture.
- Occasionally lift objects up to 25 lbs.
- Repeatedly, bend/kneel stoop as needed.
- Ability to spend many hours on your feet.
- Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
- Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
- Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
