You will be replacing our current lead engineer/architect and he will be available to help in the transition.
The RoleWe are seeking a Financial Technical Lead to spearhead the development of our core accounting and financial modeling platforms. This is a pivotal role for an experienced engineer who thrives at the intersection of complex financial logic and modern cloud architecture. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between legacy systems and next‑generation frameworks, ensuring our software remains scalable, secure, and precise.
Key Responsibilities- Architectural Leadership: Lead the design and evolution of our financial software ecosystem, balancing the maintenance of legacy ASP.NET Core applications with the rollout of modern Next.js and FastAPI services.
- Data Integrity & Modeling: Design and optimize complex relational databases (Maria
DB) and data warehousing solutions (Redshift) to handle sophisticated financial analytics. - Infrastructure & Dev Ops: Oversee cloud infrastructure via AWS (EC2, ECS, RDS). Ensure high availability, security, and performance of production environments.
- Mentorship & Quality: Lead code reviews, establish best practices for the SDLC, and mentor junior/mid‑level engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence.
- Strategic Problem Solving: Proactively identify system bottlenecks, troubleshoot complex financial calculation errors, and implement robust, long‑term fixes.
- Core Stack: Extensive experience with ASP.NET Core, C#, and Razor
. - Modern Web: Proficiency in Next.js, FastAPI
, and Type Script . - Data Systems: Deep expertise in MariaDB (or MySQL) and experience with Amazon Redshift or similar OLAP databases.
- Cloud Operations: Proven experience managing AWS environments via Console and SSH, specifically ECS for containerization and RDS for database management.
- Tooling: Expert‑level command of Git (Bit Bucket/Git Hub) and Jira for project management.
- Experience: 7+ years in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior architectural role.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
- Domain Knowledge: A strong understanding of accounting principles or financial modeling is highly preferred.
- Communication: Ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable goals for the development team and stakeholders.
