Diesel Mechanic responsible for diagnosing, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on diesel-powered trucks and equipment, including electrical and hydraulic systems, using vehicle computer diagnostics and fleet maintenance software. Conducts safety inspections, completes paperwork, documents parts and labor, and maintains a clean, OSHA-compliant work area. Full-time, Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays), requires lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors; pay $25–$35/hr with benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Bay Disposal is looking for a safety conscious Diesel Mechanic to join the team in Norfolk, VA.
Performs repairs (including electrical and hydraulic systems) and assigned preventive maintenance services.
Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Reviews and completes repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
