Overview
We are looking for new candidates to join our ever-growing team! Our ideal candidate would be a detail-oriented/experienced HVAC Installation Mechanic to install mechanical systems on new construction projects.
To be successful in this role, safety and dedication should be your top priority. Ideal candidates will be patient and have excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.
HVAC Installation Mechanic Responsibilities- Select type of material according to product being fabricated, knowledge of duct materials and job standards and specifications.
- May do layout of fittings and duct, including manually locating and marking dimensions and reference lines on sheet metal, duct board, flex and duct tape.
- May receive equipment/materials at the site.
- May set up and operate soldering and welding equipment to join together copper tubing.
- Install HVAC equipment, fans, grilles, dampers, wiring, and piping as directed.
- May install assemblies on work site according to blueprint specifications using hand tools and portable power tools.
- May fabricate and install assemblies and systems on work sites according to blueprints, specifications, and other resource information using hand tools, portable power tools, and other specialized equipment.
- Inspects assemblies and installation work for conformance with plans, specs, and trade standards using the naked eye as well as measuring instruments, such as measuring tape, ruler, plumb bob, or level.
- Measure, size, cut, and apply duct insulation.
- Extensive knowledge in the process of making and repairing duct materials, copper and composite parts.
- Clean up debris generated by work activity.
- Performs routine fabrication and/or installation activities without direct oversight or on-site assistance.
- Repair or replace defective installed work.
- Assists in training new hires on installed work.
- Conducts non-installation work in support of the fabrication shop and service dept., as assigned.
- Performs related duties as directed by the job foreman or project manager.
- Keep tools needed in trade up to date.
- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
- 1+ year experience as an HVAC Installer.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
- Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with ample notice.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Based on experience.
