Our team is looking for an experienced Carpenter to build and install concrete forms and systems for various structures in support of our various construction projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. Core Areas of Responsibility.
* Prepare layouts using a rule or measuring tape and framing square.
* Mark cutting and assembly lines on materials using a pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
* Construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
* Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above the ground level.
* Erect built-in-place forms or assemble and install prefabricated forms.
* Anchor and brace forms to fixed objects, using nails, bolts, anchor rods, and steel cables.
* Layout and install embeds in concrete formwork.
* Rigging and flagging cranes. (Additional training will be provided if necessary)
Skills You Possess.
* A minimum 3 years of experience in heavy construction, specifically with knowledge of stick framed, Symons, and gang form systems.
* Ability to read, understand and follow blueprints, diagrams, and grades and instructions from supervisors, lay out the job, and work efficiently with the materials and tools of your trade.
* Able to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (in excess of 50 lbs.) for an 8 - 10-hour workday.
* The ability to comprehend and follow specific instructions.
* Interpersonal competencies that include a drive for results, the need for closure, effective oral communication skills, organization, planning, trust, respect, being dependable and cooperation.
* Good housekeeping standards and ability to observe safety procedures and report any potentially unsafe conditions to management.
Requirements.
* 18 years of Age
* Able to Pass a Drug Test
* Legally Eligible to Work in the US
* If assigned to a government project, US citizenship and clear background check may be required.
* Experience installing underground piping required.
Additional Requirements for Craft workers.
* Must have own transportation to and from jobsite every workday (driver's license not required)
* Must provide own hand tools (excluding power tools)
