Shop Crane Technician

. This position will be located at Norfolk, Virginia branch for MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Service Manager.

• Read schematics (both hydraulic and electrical)
• Perform preventative maintenance (oil changes) and light equipment repair (break jobs)
• Light troubleshooting of electrical and hydraulic systems
• Have a mechanical background with electrical and hydraulic experience
• Be a self-starter with the initiative to advance
• Maintain a clean background and demonstrate safe work habits
• Provide excellent customer service
• Exhibit a strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills
• Maintain a basic set of hand tools

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician; vocational training may be considered in lieu of experience
• Ability to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Job duties, responsibilities and activities may change as required by the manager

• Sign-on bonus: $4,500 payable after 90 days of continuous service
• Tool Reimbursement Program up to $1,500 per calendar year

• Perform job functions in a safe manner
• Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by company policy
• Follow established job-specific and facility-wide safety procedures
• Participate in safety and health training and demonstrate competency

This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions. The physical demands include exposure to elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, and loud noises; occasional lifting up to 40 pounds; vision requirements include near and far, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and focus adjustment.
