DescriptionTo maintain all heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration system and all associated equipment, to its maximum capability at journeyman level. To operate an energy management control system in an efficient manner.
This position is designated essential personnel for emergency closings. The holder of this position is also subject to serving on a schedule to be called back to work during non-work hours. In such an event, this position is required to respond to after-hours calls.
QualificationsKnowledge, skills and abilities: Extensive working knowledge of heating, ventilating, PTAC, geothermal, and air conditioning operations. Must be able to repair and perform maintenance on institutional type equipment. Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints. Demonstrated ability to solve problems with P-tech, heating, air conditioning, geothermal, and ventilation equipment. Understanding of HVAC equipment and tools.
Special licenses, registration or certification: Valid Virginia Driver's license and insurable driving record. Virginia Journeyman mechanical license. Successful completion of a refrigerant transition and recovery course and tests. Certified for Type Universal.
Education or training: None.
Level and type of experience: Extensive heating, ventilating and air conditioning, boiler equipment repair and maintenance.
Additional Considerations: High school diploma or equivalent.
Conditions of EmploymentFacilities Management employees are considered essential personnel and subject to working during university closings.
SalarySalary commensurate with education and experience.
