RequirementsMinimum/General
Experience:
5 years of experience working with Navy personnel security systems and Navy databases; 2 years as a qualified Facility Security Officer (FSO)
Minimum Education: High School diploma
Qualifications- Working knowledge of Department of the Navy (DON) personnel security policies, including clearance eligibility, access authorization, and auditing requirements.
- Familiarity with SECNAV 5239.3 Series and related DON Information Assurance and personnel security policies.
- Experience maintaining and auditing security documentation in accordance with Navy and DoD compliance standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation, tracking, and reporting.
- Excellent understanding of FSO protocols and compliance.
- Experience supporting Navy administrative programs, security correspondence, and personnel instructions (highly desirable).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with security managers, leadership, and subordinate commands.
- Ability to maintain eligibility for access to sensitive security systems and information.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Active Secret Security Clearance (preferred).
- Ability to maintain DoD clearance eligibility.
- Position is primarily based at Naval Station, Norfolk.
- Might require periodic travel within a 50-mile radius.
- Coordinate with the CNSL Command Security Manager to conduct scheduled and unscheduled reviews of personnel security clearances and access authorizations.
- Perform clearance and access control audits for Headquarters and subordinate command personnel in support of DON personnel security requirements.
- Track and validate personnel clearance status, access eligibility, and authorization records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Identify discrepancies or security issues and coordinate corrective actions with appropriate security authorities.
- Maintain personnel security documentation in accordance with SECNAV 5239.3 Series and applicable Navy information assurance policies.
- Ensure security records are complete, current, properly stored, and audit‑ready.
- Support personnel security reporting requirements and provide status updates to Government security leadership as requested.
- Assist with administrative security actions, correspondence, and recordkeeping related to personnel access and compliance.
- Support inspections, reviews, and assessments by ensuring required security documentation is readily available and accurate.
- Provide responsive support to Headquarters and subordinate commands for personnel security and access control inquiries.
