Veterinary Assistant – Join Our Fun, Supportive Team

Location:

9650 Shore Dr, Norfolk, VA 23518

Pay: $17–$20/hour (depending on experience)

Schedule:

Full-time | 4-day work week | Monday - Thursday

East Beach Veterinary Care and House calls is a growing small-animal practice that combines high-quality medicine with a genuinely supportive, team-first culture. We take our work seriously—but not ourselves. Our team values collaboration, communication, and creating a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and comfortable being themselves.

Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Closed on weekends

Our practice offers a wide range of services, including:

• Preventive and wellness care
• Diagnostic ultrasound and echocardiography
• We are actively expanding our ability to hospitalize and manage more advanced medical cases, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow with a practice.

Veterinary Assistants at East Beach play a key role in both patient care and client communication. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with clients, educating pet owners, and being an integral part of the medical team.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting veterinarians and technicians with appointments and procedures
• Confidently discussing preventive care, vaccines, core vs. lifestyle recommendations, diagnostics, and prescribed medications
• Educating clients on chronic conditions such as diabetes and kidney disease
• Supporting a smooth, positive client experience from check-in to discharge
