Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Part‑Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Endoscopy Unit. This position includes responsibility for providing comprehensive care across the full procedural spectrum—pre‑operative assessment, intra‑procedure support, and post‑procedure recovery—for a variety of outpatient and inpatient procedures in pulmonary, gastroenterology, and ENT specialties.
Key Responsibilities- Perform patient assessments and preparations for scheduled endoscopic procedures
- Assist during procedures, ensuring patient safety and monitoring sedation
- Manage post‑procedure recovery and patient readiness for discharge or further care
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for effective case management
- Participate in a part‑time call rotation (3–4 shifts/month), including one weekend every 2 months
- Current RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or compact license)
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; procedural or critical care preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to function well in a dynamic, team‑based environment
