ICU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience required
• Experience with advanced heart failure therapies preferred
• Proficient in titrating vasoactive drips and managing complex cardiac equipment
• Ability to adapt to dynamic healthcare staffing needs

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing to patients in a mixed IMC/CC unit
• Monitor and manage patients with advanced heart failure, ventricular assist device (VAD) complications, arrhythmias, and other complex cardiac diagnoses
• Operate and manage equipment such as LVAD, CADD Solis VIP, Remunity, Tyvaso, bedside monitors, and Impella
• Titrate and administer vasoactive drips including Milrinone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Vasopressin, Lidocaine, Nicardipine, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin
• Administer additional medications and drips such as Heparin, Angiomax, Glucommander, Protonix, Octreotide, IVIG, antivirals, and IV antibiotics
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
