The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
CardiacSurgical IMCU Department Overview
- This 24‑bed unit provides high‑acuity cardiac care for pre‑ and post‑cardiac surgery patients to include: bypass surgery, cardiac valve repairs/replacements, and other cardiac‑based procedures and treatments.
- Dedicated to high‑quality care, patient outcomes, safety.
- Nurses handle 3‑4 patients on this unit based on acuity level.
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) Required, or MSN.
- Virginia RN License – Virginia or Compact/Multi‑State Eligible.
- All Direct Care RN’s required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
- Critical Care / IMCU Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of hire.
- Position requires 18 months of RN experience.
