Harris is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Technician to join its Norfolk-VA team. The manufacturing technician will perform a wide variety of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly operations on mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, or end products.

Essential Functions:

* Performs a variety of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly operations on mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, or end products in a repetitive nature

* Follows an engineered assembly process, but may require the ability to adjust, fit, or align parts

* Uses hand tools such as long nose pliers, screw drivers, soldering irons, and wrenches

* Maintains consistent quality and productivity levels

* Performs hand soldering on electronic assemblies

* Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, flexible production environment

* Works as part of a team and collaborates to accomplish tasks
* Able to lift and move up to 25 lbs.

* Works overtime as needed.
* Follow an engineered assembly process and maintain consistent quality and productivity levels.

Qualifications:

* Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of prior related experience.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

* At least 2 years of experience with electronic assembly. Preferred Additional

Skills:

* Previous assembly skills and strong mechanical background.

* L3

Harris product knowledge.

* Self-Starter, willingness to train and mentor entry level assemblers.

* Capable of identifying problems and contributing to process improvements through the E3 process.

* Lean manufacturing skills.

* CostPoint system knowledge.
