CNC Machinist-2nd shift

Overview

Insight Global is looking for an inside machinist at the journeyman or specialized level that can, not only operate CNC and manual Lathes and Mill machines but can set up the machine from start to finish. After a 3-week training period and safety courses, the inside machinist will be assigned to a specific machine (Manual Lathes, Manual Mill, CNC Lathes or CNC Mill) and will be giving a specific project.

The project could last a few hours or a few weeks depending on what item they are assigned to. They could be working with material that is 2 feet long or 10 feet long. Most of the material they will be working with will be stainless steel with a little bit of aluminum and copper. Onsite there will be a CNC programmer so the inside machinist will need to have knowledge of G&M codes but does not need to have the programming knowledge.

Once they finish one project, they will move on to the next project. Compensation: $40/hr to $45/hr exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

• Operate CNC and manual Lathes and Mill machines.
• Set up machines from start to finish and manage the project until completion.
• Work on a specific machine (Manual Lathes, Manual Mill, CNC Lathes or CNC Mill) and perform assigned projects.
• Adapt to project duration ranging from a few hours to a few weeks, depending on the item.
• Handle materials that may be 2 feet to 10 feet in length, primarily stainless steel with some aluminum and copper.
• Collaborate with onsite CNC programmer and apply knowledge of G&M codes (programming knowledge not required).
• Transition to the next project after completing the current one.
• Understand and comply with safety and training requirements (3-week training period and safety courses).

• 6+ years of being a journeyman/specialist level as an inside machinist
• 6+ years of setting up and operating lathe and mill machines (HAAS brand)
• 6+ years of Knowledge with G&M codes
• 6+ years of Experience with reading drawling's and design
• 6+ years of Experience with stainless steel
• Must be able to work second shift
• Must have a set of regular hand tools
