Job Description:
At GDIT, your work supports the U.S. Navy at sea, helping ensure mission readiness and national security. We’re looking for an experienced Alteration Installation Team (AIT) Lead who’s ready to take on high-visibility projects aboard U.S. Naval ships, supporting the integration and installation of critical C5
ISR systems.
You’ll join a dedicated, hands-on team working directly with our Navy partners in Norfolk, VA—home to some of the Navy’s most important shipbuilding and maintenance operations. If you thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where your leadership can directly influence project success, this role is for you.
Your responsibilities will include:- Supervises the day-to-day workflow of subordinate production workers.
- Reviews production schedules, material, and manpower resources.
- Assigns employees tasks to maximize productivity, minimize costs, and maintain quality.
- Directs staff through subordinate “lead” employees.
- Participates in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures.
- Performs advanced production tasks as needed.
- Reviews and compiles operations records, including floor inspection reports, and tool, equipment and supply usage, and safety reports.
- Participates in special projects, as required.
Associate’s Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work/military experience.
Experience5-8 years of related experience in mechanical production, assembly or construction.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.75 - $40.25. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
