Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Norfolk, VA, for 2nd & 3rd Class Outside Machinists and Helpers. In this role, team members will perform a variety of tasks, including the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and auxiliary systems. Responsibilities also include interpreting blueprints, working with hand and power tools, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Candidates will collaborate with skilled tradespeople and supervisors to meet project deadlines effectively.

Qualifications
  • Mechanical skills such as installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
  • Proficiency in operating hand tools, power tools, and other mechanical equipment
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in industrial or marine environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in marine repair, manufacturing, or industrial settings is a plus
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and effectively communicate with other team members
  • High school diploma or GED preferred;
    Vocational training or technical certifications are a plus
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces
