• Reading and Interpreting Drawings:
  Read and interpret sheet metal sketches, blueprints and complex assembly drawings for installation and fabrication.
• Assembly and Fabrication:
  Accurately assemble piece parts to meet specifications and quality standards.
• Installation:
  Properly install shipboard ventilation and habitability systems.
• Working with Tools:
  Use small hand tools such as electric drills, grinders and rivet guns, along with shop equipment like drill presses, press brakes and shears.
• Sheet Metal Fabrication:
  Layout, cut, bend and fabricate gauged sheet metal to tight tolerances.
• Ventilation Systems:
  Experience working with ventilation ducts and equipment.
• Blueprint Comprehension:
  Ability to interpret ventilation assembly drawings, including understanding weld symbols, material types and datum lines.
• Measurement:
  Skilled in using a ruler to comprehend fractional and decimal dimensions.
• Piece Part Layout:
  Ability to accurately lay off piece parts for fabrication.

• 3-5 years of experience in sheet metal shop fabrication, commercial sheet metal work or marine repair.
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
• Experience using various hand tools and shop equipment as specified.
• Ability to work with precision and attention to detail.

You will work in shipyards, aboard vessels or in industrial settings, performing pipe fitting tasks on complex marine systems. The role demands precision, adherence to safety standards and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
