Project Scheduler – Heavy Fabrication & Industrial Operations (Norfolk, VA)

Location:

Norfolk, VA (office-based with time in fabrication/industrial environments)

About the Opportunity

We’re supporting a well-established heavy fabrication and industrial services organization operating within complex shipyard and industrial environments. Known for strong self-perform capabilities and long-term project delivery, the business continues to grow and is adding a Project Scheduler to support project management and production planning teams.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop, update, and manage detailed production schedules using MS Project and Primavera P6
  • Collaborate with Superintendents and Project Managers to track weekly progress and milestones
  • Monitor manpower, budget, productivity, and schedule performance across projects
  • Resource-load schedules based on bid data, production plans, and capacity forecasts
  • Create and maintain master schedules aligning operations, equipment, and facility usage
  • Analyze schedule impacts, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare graphs, charts, and weekly schedule status reports for leadership
  • Support estimators with bid schedules and assist with planning activities as needed
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in planning and scheduling fabrication or industrial projects
  • Strong proficiency with MS Project and Primavera P6
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production specifications
  • Proven problem-solving skills in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities
