Position: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

Duties
  • You will interpret, create, disseminate, and enforce cybersecurity policy.
  • You will manage the Independent Verification and Validation/Compliance Assessments.
  • You will implement and manage the Information Security Systems Management Program.
  • You will conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems.
  • You will verify that application software/networks/system security postures are implemented as stated, document deviations, and recommend required actions to correct those deviations.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • The employee may be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is a Cybersecurity Workforce Management, Information Assurance Management (IAM) level II management position. The employee is required to meet IAM Level position requirements as defined in DoD guidance within six months of assignment.
  • In accordance with Department of Navy’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) Memorandum of 8 April 2015,
  • this position is identified as a position performing Cybersecurity functions and as such is designated with the following Cybersecurity Data Element Code: 60-Securely Provision (IA Compliance-61)
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
