Cyberspace Warfare Development Engineer
Hourly Rate: $48 – $72 per hour (based on experience and technical depth)
No benefits provided (Independent Contractor position)
Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Cyberspace Warfare Development Engineer to support advanced cyberspace capability development initiatives. This role focuses on architecting, designing, analyzing, and advancing cyber warfare capabilities in support of operational mission requirements.
The selected candidate will work at the intersection of cyber operations, systems architecture, Dev Sec Ops , and advanced technical capability development. This is a hands‑on technical role requiring both strategic understanding and practical engineering execution.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position.
Key Responsibilities- Architect, design, and develop cyberspace warfare capabilities and supporting technical solutions
- Conduct functional analysis, systems design, and technical specification development
- Develop and contribute to enterprise‑level cyber architectures using recognized frameworks (e.g., NAF, TOGAF, or similar)
- Support capability lifecycle development including requirements definition, design validation, and integration
- Plan, coordinate, and execute technical workshops and working groups
- Translate operational requirements into technical architectures and system designs
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including cyber operators, developers, engineers, and program leadership
- Support Dev Sec Ops integration within cyberspace capability development environments
- Contribute to cloud‑based and containerized development environments where applicable
- Provide technical documentation, briefings, and architectural artifacts to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret clearance or higher (must be current and transferable)
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant technical discipline
- Post‑degree hands‑on experience authoring technical specifications, architectures, functional analyses, and system designs
- Demonstrated experience in cyber capability development, systems engineering, or warfare development environments
- Experience drafting architecture products using recognized enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., NAF, TOGAF, or equivalent)
- Professional‑level project or program management certification (e.g., PMP, MSP, PPQ or equivalent expert‑level certification)
- Experience planning and facilitating technical workshops
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
- Dev Sec Ops pipelines and secure software development lifecycle practices
- Cloud platforms and secure cloud architecture
- Experience with modern development environments and CI/CD integration
- Programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or similar)
- Experience working with databases, large datasets, or data lake environments
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted coding tools or emerging cyber development technologies
- Experience supporting military or defense cyber operations environments
Hourly rate ranges from $48 to $72 per hour depending on depth of experience, certifications, and demonstrated technical expertise aligned with the compliance matrix scoring criteria.
