Willcox Savage is seeking an IT Applications Specialist II to serve as a Tier 2 technology resource for attorneys and staff. This role provides advanced application support, workflow optimization, and targeted training to enhance the effective use of legal and business applications across the firm.

This position works closely with attorneys, staff, internal leadership, and third-party IT service providers to resolve escalated issues, improve technology-enabled workflows, and support the firm’s legal technology environment. The position requires strong communication skills, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions for legal professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as a Tier 2 escalation point for application and workflow issues beyond basic help desk support. May be part of an after-hours on call rotation.
  • Provides advanced troubleshooting for legal and business applications, including document management and Microsoft 365.
  • Coordinates with third-party IT providers and software vendors to resolve complex issues.
Training, Adoption & Workflow Optimization
  • Assesses firmwide and individual technology training needs.
  • Develops and delivers training sessions and materials.
  • Maintains training records in collaboration with Human Resources.
Applications & Technology Management
  • Assists with selection, testing, implementation, and rollout of new software.
  • Maintains documentation, SOPs, and user guides.
  • Supports permissions and ethical wall considerations.
Requirements
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with iManage or similar DMS.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • One to three years of IT support experience;
    Tier 2 support preferred.
  • Law firm or professional services experience preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site at our Norfolk, Virginia, office.
