Position DescriptionThe Network Engineer manages and maintains the critical U.S. Navy network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity across all systems and users.
Minimum Experience5 years of experience in network administration including WLAN; 2 years of experience with Aruba wireless network devices; 2 years of experience configuring PALO ALTO firewalls; 2 years of experience with Orchestrator management interface (preferred).
Minimum EducationBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
EssentialSkills & Qualifications
- Above average knowledge of network administration including installing, administering, and troubleshooting network hardware (e.g., hotel Wi-Fi services).
- Above average knowledge of network monitoring and server management tools.
- Above average knowledge of network security principles, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Above average experience maintaining compliance and providing guidance on security requirements.
- Above average experience with PALO ALTO firewalls.
- Above average experience with Aruba wireless network devices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to collaborate and problem-solve in a team environment.
Must have an active Secret security clearance. Ability to maintain a DoD clearance is required.
Tasks & Activities- Configure and maintain security requirements on in-house network equipment to comply with existing Authority to Operate.
- Provide guidance and push security policy updates to CNSL ships outfitted with hotel Wi-Fi services.
- Provide troubleshooting efforts on shipboard hotel Wi-Fi services.
- Perform maintenance checks on equipment in-house and onboard CNSL ships.
The annual projected pay range for this position is $75,155 - $91,516.
