Description

Prevailance is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to support the evaluation of Surface Force readiness databases, improving the ability to generate ships for tasking. The successful candidate will leverage advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and a strong understanding of Surface Warfare readiness to enhance the Type Commander’s insight into fleet readiness issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and evaluate Surface Force readiness databases to improve operational efficiency and readinessCollaborate with stakeholders to identify and bridge data gaps, ensuring accurate and comprehensive reportingUtilize metrics from the PESTONI framework (Personnel, Equipment, Supply, Training, Ordnance, Infrastructure/Networks) to develop insightsDevelop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Surface Force business practices, both from organic and non-organic data sourcesDesign data visualization tools and predictive models to support decision-making at all levelsPresent complex findings to senior leadership through detailed reports and presentationsContinuously monitor and improve database design and management processesRequirements
Experience
At least 2 years of experience in database design and managementAt least 2 years of experience in data analysis for complex projects, particularly within the context of military operationsPrevious experience in a United States Navy Engineering or Combat Systems Department-related billet at sea is requiredTechnical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to manage large datasets and create detailed visualizationsFamiliarity with the PESTONI pillars of analysis and readiness metricsAdditional Requirements
Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to inform the development of data visualization tools and predictive modeling needsKnowledge of Surface Force’s business practices and data requirementsDesired
EOOW (Engineering Officer of the Watch) LetterSWO (Surface Warfare Officer) PinEducation
AA or AS degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university
BS in a Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, or Computer related field is highly desired
Clearance
Must hold or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance
