Sandy Mac Evolution LLC is a Veteran‑Owned company dedicated to connecting top talent with meaningful opportunities.

Job Description

This opportunity is open only to individuals who currently hold an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) or NATO security clearance at the required level. Engagement will be under a 1099 / Business‑to‑Business (B2B) contractual arrangement — not a W‑2 employment position.

As this is a B2B / 1099 engagement, benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans are not provided. Contractors are responsible for managing their own taxes, insurance, and other business obligations in accordance with federal and state requirements.

A defense technology specialist with deep experience in NATO’s Digital Backbone (DBB) initiative or comparable large‑scale digital integration programs. The ideal candidate has a background in IT, systems integration, or communications engineering, and has supported lived demonstrations, trials, or experiments that test interoperability, resilience, and capability integration.

They should be skilled in coordinating with multinational stakeholders, preparing test environments, analyzing outcomes, and producing clear reports for senior leaders. Practical experience with NATO digital transformation, cloud migration, or multi‑domain integration programs is highly desirable. An active NATO Secret clearance is mandatory.

Search Focus:
Defense technologists with NATO DBB experimentation and lived demonstration experience.

  • Support advanced technologies and industry selection for DTE events by developing criteria, soliciting inputs, and scoring proposals.
  • Provide required save‑the‑date, calling notices, and other administrative documentation for soliciting action for internal and outside entities.
  • Provide draft and finalize event design and management documentation in sufficient detail to track implementation.
  • Support the elaboration of DOTMLPFI requirements as outputs from the execution of technical demonstration, test, and experimentation event.
  • Support the development of the DTE event risk management plan.
  • Support the development of the DTE event security plan.
  • Support the development of the DTE registration, observer day, and VIP engagements.
  • Support the development of use cases for the design of the technical DTE.
  • Develop and refine the post‑DTE report provided to stakeholders.
  • Conduct cross‑ACT event coordination to synchronize efforts.
  • Directly support the event directors and will be required to travel to planning, integration, and execution sessions within NATO’s boundaries for approximately 4 weeks per year.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the COTR related to the LABOR category.
Requirements
  • A University/Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or business management.
  • Minimum of 5 years in the last 10 years in technical event planning, design, and execution.
  • Demonstrate 3 years of experience with the deployment of civilian standards‑based wireless communications, autonomous systems, or community of interest services.
  • Demonstrate 3 years of experience with the application of project management.
