Overview
As a Senior Occupational Safety Specialist at BAE Systems, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, and you will be instrumental in supporting a culture of safety excellence. Your expertise and leadership will be crucial in driving our safety management system forward.
Responsibilities- Collaborating with management, staff, and hourly employees to promote and support a safety culture that prioritizes the well-being of all employees through our Safety Management System (SMS).
- Leading incident investigations, working closely with management and professionals to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Analyzing data and information to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Communicating findings and recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring that safety concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Inspecting facilities, machinery, and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Training management and hourly employees on required company and regulatory training, ensuring that everyone is equipped to work safely.
- Interacting with regulators during inspections, providing expertise and guidance to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Identifying hazardous workplace conditions and develop strategies to remove or mitigate risks.
- Participating in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and procedures, ensuring that the organization is compliant with regulatory requirements.
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Safety, or related field, plus two (2) years experience, or the overall equivalent.
