Overview
As a Patient Transporter with Sentara, you will safely escort and transport patients within all areas of the hospital using safe body mechanics. The role strictly adheres to all safety rules and initiatives of Sentara, communicates clearly with staff, visitors, and patients, and ensures adequate coordination between Central Transport and other departments.
Responsibilities
- Safely escort and transport patients within the hospital.
- Utilize safe body mechanics while following safety policies.
- Communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and patients.
- Coordinate and relay information between Central Transport and other departments.
Qualifications
- HS – High School graduate or equivalent.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification within 90 days of hire.
- Previous patient care experience.
