Patient Account Specialist

Overview

The Patient Account Specialist is responsible for reviewing charges for accuracy and appropriate usage of ICD
10, CPT, and HCPC codes to maximize reimbursement for EVMS Medical Group.

• Review clinical documentation to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant charge capture prior to submission.
• Research, resolve, and respond to tasks in the professional billing work queues.
• Assist providers and clinical staff with billing and coding questions and issues.
• Manually post charges in EPIC.

Minimum

Qualifications and Skills:

• Working knowledge of ICD
  10/CPT coding in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of insurance carrier rules and regulations.
• Requires detail oriented, adaptability, independent thinking, and problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current CPC certification, one year experience in a medical billing and coding environment
