The Patient Account Specialist is responsible for reviewing charges for accuracy and appropriate usage of ICD
10, CPT, and HCPC codes to maximize reimbursement for EVMS Medical Group.
Responsibilities
* Review clinical documentation to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant charge capture prior to submission.
* Research, resolve, and respond to tasks in the professional billing work queues.
* Assist providers and clinical staff with billing and coding questions and issues.
* Manually post charges in EPIC.
Qualifications
Minimum
Qualifications and Skills:
* Working knowledge of ICD
10/CPT coding in a medical office setting.
* Knowledge of insurance carrier rules and regulations.
* Requires detail oriented, adaptability, independent thinking, and problem solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Current CPC certification, one year experience in a medical billing and coding environment
