Medical Receptionist
Overview
Responsible for assisting with checking in/out patients, medical records requests, taking patient payments. This position is responsible for ensuring appropriate Medical Group policies are followed. This position is also responsible for answering the telephone, scanning pertinent patient data into the electronic medical record, and verifying patient insurance information. Patient confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
Responsibilities- Checking in and out patients.
- Answering telephone calls and scheduling patients.
- Scanning referrals, medical records requests and FMLA.
- Filling out paperwork and retrieving hearing aid drop offs/pickups.
- Chart prepping for future clinics making sure all appropriate paperwork is ready 10 days prior to the clinic.
- Working preregistration and post registration work queues.
Performs other duties as assigned, according to departmental needs.
QualificationsProfessional, customer service-oriented individual is required.
Experience performing related functions in a medical practice is preferred. Experience working with EHR systems is preferred. Previous front desk customer service experience will be considered.
