Environmental Services Technician I – Housekeeper

Sentara Leigh Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Technician I (Housekeeper) to support the Environmental Services Department in Norfolk, VA.

• Location: Norfolk, VA
• Work Shift: Full-time Swing Shift 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., every other weekend
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Seniority Level: Entry level

• Maintain assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
• Perform tasks such as dusting, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.
• Follow established protocols for the safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ensure proper collection, handling, and disposal of waste according to regulatory standards.
• Respond promptly to spills and urgent cleaning needs.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily cleaning and sanitation goals.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation protocols and infection prevention standards.
• Respond promptly to service requests and uphold a high standard of cleanliness.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Follow safety procedures and infection prevention guidelines.
• Adopt a team-oriented approach focused on providing excellent service to patients and staff.

Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 274-bed acute care facility that opened in 1903 and relocated to its present site in 1977. The hospital completed a renovation in 2016, including new patient towers and a large atrium. It includes a dedicated Orthopedic Hospital and is a recognized accredited Primary Stroke Center and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence.
