Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Clinical Lab Assistant for part‑time night shift (9:30 p‑5:30 a). The position is located in the Lab Processing unit.

Primary point of contact for all specimen entry into the laboratory. Labels, processes, and distributes samples based on testing ordered and required. Monitors supply levels in the specimen processing area. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and is responsible for internal and external customer inquiry and problem resolution. Frequent interaction with hospitals, nursing facilities, and physician office staff.

• Enter specimens into the laboratory information system.
• Label and process specimens.
• Distribute specimens for testing.
• Monitor and restock supplies.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues.
• Interact regularly with external facilities and staff.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• No specific certification or licensure required.
• 1 year of healthcare experience (preferred).
