Job Description(POSTING TO FILL MULTIPLE POSITIONS) Provide counseling and counseling‑related services to university students. Also, provide mental health consultation and outreach services to the university community.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of the practices, procedures, processes and/or protocols for the provision of counseling services in a mental health agency or college or university counseling center.
- Working knowledge of college student development.
Licensed in VA as a licensed professional counselor, psychologist or social worker.
Education or Training- Master's degree in a mental health field, counseling, social work or psychology.
- Internship at a University/College Counseling Services or mental health agency.
- Completion of graduate internship at a mental health agency.
Experience in a mental health or private setting providing mental health treatment services to young adults.
Additional Considerations (Supplemental Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification)Doctoral degree in counseling, social work or psychology.
Conditions of EmploymentHourly (wage) employees are restricted to working 29 hours per week on average or 1500 hours in total in the May 1 – April 30 period. This position does not have health insurance, retirement or leave. These part‑time positions work 20 hours per week for nine‑month terms during the academic year.
