Corrosion Control Technician Under Instruction (U/I) (Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E)) to support our customers in Norfolk, Virginia
Responsibilities- Support corrosion control maintenance programs for U.S. Navy ships and submarines within HM&E scope.
- Apply surface preparation techniques and coatings to comply with shipboard organizational level corrosion control requirements.
- Assist with the evaluation and implementation of new corrosion control technologies on Navy and Coast Guard ships/boats as applicable.
- Required Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; plus related military experience or trade/industrial school graduate and/or trade experience. - Required Certification: AMPP Certified Coatings Inspector (CIP Level
2). - Desired
Experience:
Approximately five (5) years of experience in the corrosion control field supporting U.S. Navy ship and submarine maintenance. Experience with shipboard organizational level corrosion control maintenance of HM&E systems and ship structures; surface preparation tools, corrosion control techniques, coating system application tools and coating systems used on U.S. Navy and/or Coast Guard ships/boats; and familiarity with new corrosion control technologies and their potential implementation on Navy/Coast Guard vessels. - Security Clearance: Must currently hold and maintain a Secret security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
