Job SummaryResponsible for supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of various forms of equipment in 3 Offshore and 1 Onshore Substation. Provide technical support for substation equipment compliance and operational functions. Knowledge and skills necessary to provide oversight for the maintenance and troubleshooting of complex Substation equipment and systems including but not limited to HVAC, Diesel Engine, Fire Suppression and Battery. Collect data for research and analysis.
Supports in the collection, analysis, and generation of compliance reports to support Dominion's North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) compliance regulatory requirements. Assists in the maintenance of BES cyber assets including but not limited to Cyber security patching, password maintenance, BES Cyber asset identification and inventory, audit evidence gathering and other activities as assigned. Assist with the development, selection, and implementation of online monitoring equipment and software.
Assist in the development of Substation maintenance and operating procedures for online monitoring equipment. Develop maintenance and troubleshooting guidelines. Conduct training sessions as required for field personnel.
Substation Operations Technical Specialist I: 1-2 years directly related experience in addition to preferred degree or its equivalence in additional demonstrated directly related experience/education.
Substation Operations Technical Specialist II: 3+ years directly related experience. Interface experience with Engineering and Substation technical roles. Bachelor degree preferred degree or its equivalence in additional demonstrated directly related experience/education.
Substation Operations Technical Specialist III: 5+ years directly related experience. Interface experience with Engineering and Substation technical roles. Bachelor degree preferred degree or its equivalence in additional demonstrated directly related experience/education.
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
Knowledge of substation equipment operations, maintenance and technical design applications;
Demonstrates ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering and technology to solve broadly defined engineering and technical problems of the discipline;
Strong skills for obtaining, reporting and managing electronic databases;
Advanced computer skills and knowledge of software applications used in Substation maintenance and record keeping;
Extensive knowledge of CVOW Operations safety and work guidelines and procedures;
Have a working knowledge of control design drawings;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, teambuilding skills, organizational skills;
Strong leadership and problem solving skills;
Must be capable of working with minimum supervision, must be self-motivated with excellent time management skills;
Must be capable of lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, and prolonged standing;
Excellent organizational and project management skills;
Ability to work with a diverse team is required;
Physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces. Must have a current medical certificate and must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job…
