- Conceives, designs, and prepares working drawings for new or modified structures.
- Must perform a variety of complicated problem-solving tasks.
- Responsible for daily supervision of design and technical development of projects.
- At the outset of each new project or current assignment, prepare a project budget scenario and then track hours spent on project.
- Prepare suggestions for staffing requirements and production to keep project performance on track.
- Define, along with the project manager, the productivity and profit goals for each assigned project.
- Work directly with project managers in the conceptual development of the project assignments.
- Develop effective client relationships in bringing projects to fruition.
- Keep design support team productive and efficient. Responsible for check set review, code compliance and risk management review of assigned projects.
- Works with contractors to price, bid, and construct projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in architecture from accredited program.
- Minimum 4 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience).
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
- Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
- Previous consulting experience preferred.
- Proficient in REVIT
- Demonstrated progress toward becoming a Registered Architect.
