Electrical Technician III – Norfolk, VA
Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. has a job opportunity for a full-time Electrical Technician III in Norfolk, VA.
SummaryThe Electrical Technician III will support the operational readiness of U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers stationed at Naval Station Norfolk. This role involves ensuring all electrical systems are fully operational and ready to support carrier missions. The technician works closely with a dedicated team to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical systems, contributing to efficiency and safety of naval operations.
Duties and Responsibilities- Offer subject matter expertise to shipboard personnel, assisting the CEMAT electrical project team with engineering and technical support.
- Deliver over-the-shoulder and on-the-job training to ship’s force Sailors as needed.
- Provide guidance on materials, maintenance, and training to ships' crews for shipboard equipment and systems on CVN aircraft carriers.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting using multimeter and megohmmeter on electrical systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
- Maintain and repair shipboard auxiliary electrical equipment on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers, including centrifugal pumps, air conditioning systems, and 400 Hz power conversion systems.
- Eight (8) years of experience in operation, repair, and maintenance of naval or marine propulsion hull, mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems.
- Documented electrical technical knowledge and expertise in Navy shipboard electrical systems and equipment.
- U.S. Navy surface ships or aircraft carriers experience required.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or other mechanical technical data of naval hull, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
- Ability to work aboard ships in a shipyard environment under industrial conditions.
- Willingness to wear PPE (hard hats, hearing protection, safety glasses).
- Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role of subordinate work groups desired.
- Associate degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to two (2) years of technician experience.
- OSHA 7615 Shipyard Employment 10‑hour training course within 30 days.
- Obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
- Respirator qualified including a physical and fit test.
