Senior Electrical Engineer – SR (Bristol Infrastructure Design Services, LLC)
Bristol Infrastructure Design Services, LLC is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the Department of Navy at Hampton Roads, VA. The Engineer will conduct field evaluations and generate review comments for electrical design proficiency in accordance with code standards for in‑house and A&E design submittals. The position will have a hybrid work schedule set by NAVFAC.
Responsibilities- Conduct field evaluations and generate review comments for electrical design proficiency in accordance with code standards for in‑house and A&E design submittals.
- Ensure comments are resolved and incorporated into the design; verify that A&E contract work has been satisfactorily completed.
- Conduct site visits prior to design to assess and generate electrical systems design requirements.
- Assist with construction quality assurance by performing code‑required special inspections or required electrical observation.
- Witness acceptance testing and provide troubleshooting recommendations of electrical equipment and systems during facility commissioning.
- Apply knowledge of AutoCAD/REVIT, Microsoft Office, and relevant DoD computer systems and software.
- Produce written analysis results, consolidate findings, evaluate recommendations, and make oral presentations of proposed designs.
- Follow Safety Policy and Guidance and use personal protective equipment.
- Design and evaluate systems for various facilities—lighting, power distribution, telecommunications, security, grounding, instrumentation/control, lightning protection, etc.
- Apply DoD, Navy, and industry codes and standards, including NFPA 70, IEEE C2, and the International Building Code.
- Consider local, state, federal, and foreign statutory requirements impacting electrical engineering design in the NAVFAC Mid‑Atlantic AOR.
- Apply budgeting, planning, and project‑management techniques; coordinate work of others and lead teams.
- Recognize impacts of related architectural and engineering fields on electrical design.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the discipline of Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of professional, code‑compliant facilities design experience for new construction, including renovation design.
- ABET‑accredited Bachelor’s degree in an electrical engineering program.
