• Disassemble, repair, test, troubleshoot, examine, fit, modify, maintain, install, and determine serviceability of aircraft survival and flight equipment (helmets, torso harness assemblies, preservers, parachutes, life rafts, chemical/biological protective devices, survival kits, oxygen masks, anti-G-suits).
• Perform operational and circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices (survival radios and beacons).
• Apply knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair/maintenance procedures, pyrotechnic and explosive devices, and aircraft egress systems.
• Demonstrate and explain proper usage and operation of aircraft survival and flight equipment.

• Secret Clearance is required.
• Knowledge of ALSS, AMMRL, and Corrosion Control.
• ALSS / Egress Services: perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and personal ALSS for VRM-40.
• ALSS/Ordnance: maintenance on the Survival Vest (CMU-33/CMU-37/CMU-38) requires ordnance certification due to MK-124 MOD 1 Marine Smoke and Illumination Signal; compliance with Explosives Handling Personnel Qualification and Certification program is required.
