The Director of Pre-Health Professions Advising provides oversight for the Pre-Health Professions Advising Office. They are responsible for the advising and support of students seeking to pursue graduate programing in the health professions, developing partnerships with graduate programs, coordinating community engagement opportunities, and advocating for the needs of Pre-Health students.
Position TypeFull Time
Minimum Qualifications- Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Professional Health, or a related program. Master's degree in another field may be considered with extensive related experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the national and regional trends in health professions and ability to leverage an existing network or grow a network of contacts involved in Admissions work at healthcare professional schools in the region and nation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of application processes for medical and/or other health professional schools.
- Comprehensive written and oral communication skills.
- Comprehensive empathy, flexibility, and a growth mindset.
- Considerable ability to work with a diverse population of students, faculty, and administrators.
- Extensive experience in health professions advising or health professions program admissions.
- Considerable experience building and supporting talent pipelines for undergraduate students.
- Considerable experience supporting undergraduate students through competitive graduate application processes.
- Doctoral degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or Professional Health preferred.
