Responsibilities- Administrative support to the clinical Ph.D. program and its initiatives.
- Oversight of clinical Ph.D. students who are being directly supervised in external practicum sites.
- Cultivation of external practicum sites in the Hampton Roads community.
- Teaching graduate courses in the clinical PhD program and/or undergraduate courses in the Department of Psychology to support the ODU teaching mission.
- Assisting with program initiatives to reduce mental health care disparities in the community.
Minimum required education and/or special licenses, registrations, trainings, or certifications
Candidates must have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology or a closely related field by the position start date. Applicants at the Associate Professor level must document substantial teaching, clinical, and/or administrative experience sufficient to warrant the rank of Clinical Associate Professor at ODU.
Minimum required level and type of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience with community engagement for developing or delivering clinical services and teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level. Preference will also be given to those who are licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia by fall 2026.

About the DepartmentODU's Department of Psychology is in the College of Sciences and includes 28 full-time faculty members, approximately 1,200 undergraduate majors, and 60 students in our graduate programs. The department offers a terminal Master’s degree in Psychology and a Ph.D. with concentrations in Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, and Human Factors. ODU has led the administration of the APA-accredited Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology, training doctoral students in clinical psychology for over 43 years.
