Job DescriptionThe Department of Management at Old Dominion University invites applications for two lecturer positions to begin in Fall 2026
. These are 10-month, non-renewable appointments for the 2026‑2027 academic year, with potential for these positions to become renewable.
- Teaching a variety of Management courses in both in‑person (synchronous) and online (asynchronous) formats. The standard teaching schedule is four courses per academic semester (8 total per year). Examples of classes include Strategic Management, Principles of Management, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Behavior, International Business, and Introduction to Business.
- Provide significant service to the department and the university (e.g., advising students, advising student clubs/organizations, assessment-related activities, engagement with community organizations and university stakeholders).
- Engaging in continuing education, scholarship, and/or professional development necessary for maintaining currency in the field.

Required EducationCandidates must hold a Master's or Doctorate in Business Administration or a related field by the date of employment to be considered for this position.
Preferred Qualifications F0288A Lecturer Position- An interest in teaching strategic management and entrepreneurship courses.
- A terminal degree, such as a doctorate.
- A degree from an AACSB‑ or EQUIS‑accredited institution.
- Significant management experience, such as at the director or officer level or in strategic-level consulting, will also be given preference.
- Collegiate-level teaching experience.
- An interest in teaching human resource management courses.
- A terminal degree, such as a doctorate.
- A degree from an AACSB‑ or EQUIS‑accredited institution.
- Extensive and progressive experience in human resource management roles that demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility and leadership.
- Recognized human resource management credentials such as SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Collegiate-level teaching experience.
