The Department of Engineering Management & Systems Engineering (EMSE) at Old Dominion University invites applicants for a Lecturer that will contribute to the growth and development of current graduate programs beginning July 25, 2025. This is a 10-month annual appointment with opportunities for summer teaching.
Responsibilities- Participation in planning and developing new graduate-level courses.
- Teaching new graduate-level courses.
- Collecting and analyzing data related to programmatic needs and outcomes.
- Help coordinate some of the department's degree programming and curriculum development.
- Mentoring or advising master's and doctoral students.
Minimum required education: A Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline. ABD candidates expected to complete the degree prior to employment may be considered.
Minimum required experience:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Course development and delivery experience in online settings.
- Teaching portfolio that maps with the department areas of need, with evidence of teaching success.
- Publications in journal(s) and conference proceeding(s) in areas of relevance to the department.
- Familiarity and capability to teach in online settings both synchronously and asynchronously.
- A commitment to service, and contributions to relevant academic and professional groups.
- Instructional design expertise.
